Version 2.0 • Payers (People Making Payments)

Terms for Payers

These terms apply to your use of the Tuppence platform when making a payment through a Tuppence payment link ("Payer").

Tuppence provides the software interface through which payment links are presented and managed.

Payment processing is carried out through third-party payment providers, including Stripe. Tuppence is not a bank, escrow provider, or deposit-taking institution, and does not itself hold funds where payments are processed through Stripe-connected flows.

Each payment link is created by a collector who is responsible for the collection purpose, amount, description, and any goods, services, access, events, memberships, or benefits connected to it.

You should review the collection details carefully before making payment and satisfy yourself that you understand who you are paying and why.

  • By submitting payment, you confirm that the payment details you provide are accurate and that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method.
  • You are responsible for checking the amount, currency, and purpose shown before confirming payment.
  • Transaction or processing fees, where applicable, should be shown before payment is completed.

Refunds and complaints relating to the purpose of the collection, or any goods, services, events, or benefits connected to it, should normally be raised with the collector first.

Tuppence is not primarily responsible for the collector’s underlying obligations to you. However, this does not affect any rights you may have under applicable law, card-network rules, or payment-provider dispute processes.

Tuppence may assist operationally at its discretion, but is not obliged to resolve every dispute between a payer and a collector.

You may receive a payment confirmation or receipt by email or through the payment flow, subject to the information provided and the configuration of the relevant payment flow.

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Depending on the payment flow, you may be asked to provide information such as your name, email address, or other payer-input fields configured for the collection. That information may be used for payment administration, receipts, communication, compliance, support, fraud prevention, and related platform purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.

We and our payment providers may monitor, review, delay, block, or decline payments where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, sanctions compliance, payment security, technical integrity, or legal compliance.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to that, Tuppence is not responsible for the collector’s conduct, the legitimacy of every collection, or the delivery, quality, legality, or performance of any underlying goods, services, memberships, events, or other promised benefits connected to a collection.

If you have questions or concerns about your use of the Tuppence platform, please contact support@tuppence.app.
